Together Stronger

Together Stronger

From Friday 8th March and running throughout autumn and again in spring, the New Zealand public will see a Farmlands Co-operative advertising campaign that is just a little special.

What is the Together Stronger story about?

Farmlands was formed by farmers, for farmers with the aim that everybody should prosper. This sentiment remains as strong today as it did in the Eskdale Hall and Outram Hotel over 50 years ago and will not change.

However, farmers and growers are now faced with an increasingly challenging agricultural landscape that is impacted more than ever – by global economics, weather, regulation, social license to operate and the need to evolve to meet the needs of the global consumer.

That means we need to change to remain ahead of the curve.

We want to put our shareholders’ future success at the centre of everything we do. To achieve this, we have looked at our culture, our values and our strategies. Reaffirming our identity has helped us tackle significant change, as we prepare all Farmlanders for how our shareholders will do business in the future.

It’s time to take this message of contextual change and future focus to the market, while reminding the wider public of who we are and what we stand for – which hasn’t changed.

Why is it something to brag about?

It comes down to the Farmlands Purpose – re-inventing the Farmlands Co-operative Spirit, which isn’t possible without our staff and shareholders. To reflect that we’ve gone local for the TV talent.

Yes, that’s right, every person you see in the four television advertisements is either a Farmlands shareholder, an employee of a shareholder or a Farmlander (staff member). Some have been shareholders for decades!

It is really rare to have non-actors involved…and we’re not going to lie…it wasn’t easy to get the takes. But we’re so stoked with the authentic result our contributors have achieved.

The ads were filmed in locations that represent the diversity of where our shareholders are from. Specifically, we spent time filming in Invercargill, Otapiri, Wallace Town, Mabel Bush, Wyndham, Tokanui, Wanaka, Cromwell, Bannockburn, Mangateretere, Hastings, Matapiro, Havelock North, Waiohiki, Poukawa, Pukekohe and Karaka.

But don’t take our word for it. Check them out! Keep an eye out across all mainstream TV channels, On Demand and online. Chances are – you may know someone featured.
