With 28 years of experience across multiple sectors of horticulture, Guillermo brings global insight and practical knowledge to his role at Farmlands. His background includes working with berries, figs and passionfruit in hydroponic systems, managing nurseries for crops like kiwifruit, grapes and avocados, and advising on winegrape production in Argentina. He has also grown a wide range of outdoor crops including rock melons, onions, garlic and cucurbits. After working for Gavins Ltd, a key Farmlands shareholder, Guillermo joined the co-operative to take on a new challenge and help rebuild Farmlands’ horticultural presence in Waikato.
"My mission from day one was to re-establish Farmland's presence in the Waikato area from the ground up and provide value and advice to growers. Now, we are two TAs in the area and counting!"
Outside of work, he enjoys time with family and friends and is passionate about perfecting the art of the traditional Argentine asado using New Zealand meat.
