With experience spanning kiwifruit, food manufacturing, and the fishing industry, Mike brings a diverse background and practical insight to his role at Farmlands. Since moving to Kerikeri over four years ago, he has immersed himself in all things kiwifruit, from orchard worker and manager to regional manager and harvest coordinator. This has also given him the opportunity to branch out and work with growers across a range of crops. 

Before heading north, Mike managed multiple food manufacturing businesses and helped design and build processing facilities in Northland and around NZ. Passionate about reducing food waste, he worked on turning rejected fruit and vegetables into high value-added products. Earlier in his career, he also spent time in the fishing industry, working alongside long line fishermen off the coasts of Gisborne and Taranaki, before moving into fish markets as a buyer and exporter.

Having grown up on farms around Te Awamutu and Matamata, Mike has a strong connection to the land and is excited to be working with Farmlands shareholders in the Kerikeri and Waipapa regions.
