For over 140 years, Manawatu Knitting Mills has navigated the challenges of being a textile manufacturer in New Zealand. During this time, we have never strayed from using locally sourced woollen yarns.  We have always relied on the very best quality fibre that New Zealand has to offer in order to create a point of difference to the cheaper, imported products available within the clothing retail sector. 

MKM Originals products are manufactured using 100% New Zealand Wool, and are 100% New Zealand made in our factory in Palmerston North. At the forefront of recent natural fibre performance clothing is the iconic 36.6 Tasman jersey.   Its unique woollen layering system is designed to maintain the wearers ultimate body temperature in the elements, while showcasing the incredible attributes of wool - naturally UV resistant, fire retardant, and can regulate body temperature with ease - wool is designed to perform in tough terrain while having a minimal impact on the environment.
