As a co-operative, Farmlands values the input of its shareholders and the Director election presents the ideal opportunity for you to have your say.

Following the Society's rules, the Board has confirmed that a Director election will take place in the South Island for one position.

Under the rules of the Society, if you wish to nominate a candidate for the Director election, you must provide notice of your nomination in writing. Nominations must be received at 535 Wairakei Road, Burnside, Christchurch 8053 no later than 5.00pm on Thursday 29th August 2019. Elections will only take place if the number of nominations received are greater than the number of vacancies.

Nominations must be in writing, signed by two shareholders, and must contain written confirmation by the nominee of his or her willingness to be elected. Any nominee must be a South Island shareholder of Farmlands and must have been a transacting member of Farmlands for at least three years prior to the date of the nomination.

Should an election and vote be necessary, only those living in the South Island are entitled to vote. Appropriate voting papers will be sent out shortly after the closing date for nominations and a voting process will follow. You will be provided with details of that process should that be necessary.

Candidates standing, including current Directors retiring and available for re-election, will be required to be part of an independent assessment process, the results of which will be circulated with the voting papers.
