Lower North Island Territory Manager – Fuel

 

What do you enjoy about your job?
Managing my own time, building strong commercial relationships and developing knowledge in a new industry to me. It’s also cool that I get to drive through some pretty amazing countryside!

What were you doing before?
I was Lower North Island Sales Manager at George Weston Foods (Tip Top Bakery) for nine years and prior to that, I was succession planning for 10 years in sales and distribution roles within GWF.

Where are you from originally?
I was born in Southland, schooled in Marlborough and have worked in Canterbury and Wellington.

Tell us a bit about your family.
I’m married to Nicola and we have 15-year-old twins, Spud and Abs (Logan and Abbie).

What do you like to do most in your spare time?
Watching kids’ sport, swimming, camping and enjoying good food and good wine with good friends.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be? 
Anywhere place that shorts, singlet and jandals are the norm.

What piece of technology could you not live without?
Navman. Because men don’t need maps.

What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten? 
Sweetbreads.

Where is your favourite New Zealand getaway?
Marlborough Sounds.

What is the most interesting trip you have ever taken?
A 28-day Mini-Europe Contiki Tour finishing up at the Munich Beer Festival.

What is your favourite tipple?
I have a fairly broad palate, so to only pick one would be an injustice. However Tanqueray 10 and tonic, good wine or a nice cold Heiney is a pretty good start.

What is your signature karaoke song?
During my rugby days, I belted out a few renditions of ‘Seven Spanish Angels’.

Past or present, who would you like to meet?
NZ chef Al Brown, so he could teach me how to prepare rustic food brilliantly.
