Agrecovery provides free recycling for plastic containers from over 3000 of the most common ag-chem, animal health and dairy hygiene products sold into the New Zealand market.

Free Farm Plastic Recycling — Right Across Aotearoa

Farmlands partners with Agrecovery to make recycling farm plastics free for every farmer and grower in New Zealand. Drop off containers and feed bags at Farmlands collection sites nationwide — no cost, no hassle.

Since 2019, Farmlands has backed the Agrecovery rural plastics recycling programme.

This partnership with Agrecovery has enabled us to divert feed and seed bags and agchem containers from landfill. Last year alone, our network 98 tonnes diverted tonnes of plastic. That's your co-op at work — reinvesting in the land you farm.

Participating brands include NRM, McMillan, Reliance Feeds, and Seales Winslow, with more added every season.

How do I take part in farm plastic recycling?

Getting started with Container Recycling

1. Register your property with Agrecovery.

2. Triple-rinse your containers until chemical-free.

3. Drop them at your nearest Farmlands Agrecovery container site.


Getting started with Small Bags Recycling

1.     Order your free colour-coded liners — Woven PP (purple) or LDPE (green).

2.     Pack and seal clean bags into the correct liner — no other materials.

3.     Store for up to 6 months, then drop at your nearest collection point.
