Terms and Conditions of Entry
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry. Entry into this promotion deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Entry.
2. The Promotion is Nominate a rural rugby legend in your local rugby club and they’re in the draw to win the Ultimate Rugby Club upgrade valued at over $50,000 (incl. GST) (“Promotion”).
3. The Promotion begins at 8.00 am on 5 September 2026 and ends at 11.59 pm on 15th October 2026 (“Promotion Period”).
4. The Promotion is offered by Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited of 535 Wairakei Road, Burnside, Christchurch 8053, New Zealand (“Promoter”).
METHOD OF ENTRY, ELIGIBILITY
5. The Promotion is open to New Zealand residents who, during the Promotion Period, nominate an individual from their local rugby club who satisfies the eligibility criteria outlined in Schedule 1. Nominees must be 18 years of age or older at the time of nomination. The nominations must be submitted through the Promotion portal on the Farmlands website and must include either:
- (a) a video of between 30 and 60 seconds in duration; or
- (b) a written application accompanied by one or more images.
- (c) 2 images of the nominee, including them at/in the club environment.
By submitting a nomination, the entrant warrants that they have obtained the nominee's consent to:
- (a) provide the nominee's personal information, photographs, videos and other submitted content to the Promoter;
- (b) the Promoter collecting, using, storing and disclosing that information for the purposes of administering, promoting and conducting the Promotion; and
- (c) the publication of the nominee's name, image, likeness, club affiliation and submitted content in connection with the Promotion.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Farmlands Privacy Policy.
6. Employees of Farmlands are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.
7. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of an entrant’s eligibility if there is a doubt over his/her eligibility for the promotion and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter may also, at its sole discretion, reject, remove, or refuse to publish any nomination or associated content that it considers offensive, defamatory, unlawful, or damaging to the reputation of the Promoter, any nominee, or any third party
PRIZE AND REDEMPTION
8. The Promoter will appoint an independent judging panel to assess all eligible nominations against the criteria set out in Schedule 1 and select fourteen (14) finalists.
9. One (1) Overall Winner will be selected from the finalists based on a combined score comprising:
- 50% from the Farmlands judging panel; and
- 50% from the public vote.
10. One (1) People’s Choice Winner will be selected from the finalists based solely on the public vote.
11. Scoring Methodology: Each eligible nominee will receive:
- a public voting score (worth 50% of the total score); and
- a judging panel score (worth 50% of the total score).
12. Public Vote: Following the close of nominations, all eligible nominees will be published at https://farmlands.co.nz/rural-rugby-legends-vote for public voting. Once voting closes, nominees will be ranked from the highest to the lowest number of votes received. The rankings will then be divided into ten (10) equal brackets. Nominees in Bracket 10 will receive ten (10) points, nominees in Bracket 9 will receive nine (9) points, and so on down to Bracket 1. This method is intended to ensure that no nominee can win solely based on the volume of public votes received.
13. Judging Panel: The judging panel will assess each nominee against Farmlands’ four values: Warm, Steadfast, Driven and Grounded. Each value will be scored out of ten (10), giving a total score out of forty (40). The total score will then be divided by four (4) to produce a judging panel score out of ten (10).
14. Finalists: Farmlands reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- select finalists based on total score alone; or
- nominate one (1) finalist from each major provincial union in recognition of Farmlands’ partnership with NZ Provincial Unions.
15. The Prize includes a prize package valued at over $14,000 (incl. GST) for the Overall Winner, the Ultimate Club Upgrade package for the Overall Winner’s local rugby club, valued at over $50,000 (incl. GST), the People’s Choice winner package valued at $1,499 (incl. GST) and 14 finalist prize packages valued at over $700 (incl. GST) each. These are outlined in Schedule 3.
16. Certain Prize components may be supplied by third party providers and may be subject to additional terms, conditions, eligibility requirements, availability constraints, site assessments and booking requirements imposed by those providers.
17. Where a Prize component requires installation, alteration to premises or ongoing services, the winning club is responsible for obtaining any necessary approvals, permissions or consents from facility owners, landlords, local authorities or other third parties, at its own cost and without any cost, expense or liability to the Promoter.
18. The Prize is subject to availability, and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of votes and to remove any vote that it reasonably believes is fraudulent, automated, manipulated, duplicated or otherwise inconsistent with the spirit of the Promotion.
20. If the Prize or any part of the Prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter in its sole discretion reserves the right to substitute or withdraw the Prize or part thereof.
21. If a Prize-winner cannot be contacted with his or her provided contact details or other means, or the contact details provided on the Shareholder’s Farmlands account are incorrect, the Prize may, at the Promoter’s sole discretion be forfeited.
22. The Promoter’s decisions on all matters including determination of finalists, winners and vote validity will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
23. The Promoter may cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Promotion or these Terms and Conditions at any time and for any reason before the end of the Promotion Period and shall not be liable to any participant or Prize winner for any loss or damage incurred as a result.
24.The Promoter takes no responsibility for omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access telecommunications network services, or any other error or malfunction in respect of the Promotion and any resulting failure to record any eligible entries.
25. Except for liability that may not by law be excluded, the Promoter shall not be liable under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and/or this Promotion for any cost, expense, loss or damage suffered by any participant, even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable, and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
26. These Terms and Conditions are governed by New Zealand law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. By entering the Promotion, entrants and nominees grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, communicate and display any nomination materials, photographs, videos, names, likenesses and related content submitted as part of the Promotion in any media for the purposes of administering and promoting the Promotion and promoting the Promoter's business, products and services. Entrants warrant that they own, or have obtained all necessary rights, permissions and consents required for the Promoter to use the submitted content in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
27. Participants in the Promotion agree not to make any commercial or business use of the Promotion to resell or commercially benefit from any part or aspect of the Promotion.

Nomination criteria
A Rural Rugby Legend is someone who lives, breathes and loves their club, its members and its place in the community. Someone whose contribution to the club goes beyond what’s asked. They can hold a paid or formal role, be a volunteer, a player or non-player.
A Rural Rugby Legend demonstrates the following attributes;
- Warm — one of ours, trusted, makes people feel like they belong
- Steadfast — always there, every week, every weather, without being asked twice
- Driven — does the job nobody asked, gets stuck in
- Grounded — not doing it for the glory, does it because the club needs it
